A wonderful dog that changed our lives in so many ways has passed on. Even at fourteen, we could see his endearing personality and love in his eyes. Raider was a one of a kind Labrador that produced many offspring that achieved the highest titles/honors in APLA, NAHRA, AKC Hunt Tests, Agility and upland competitions. He was an outstanding hunter, competitor, companion, and producer of puppies that touched so many people. We are fortunate to have co-owned such an exceptional Labrador. Thank you for your condolences, thoughtful e-mails, posts and for your contribution in building his legacy. May Raider live on in your puppies and in our hearts.
Raider has proven himself
well with these accomplishments: Five for five consecutive
qualifications in 1997 to earn his AKC Senior Title; Five
for five consecutive qualifications in 1998 to earn his AKC
Master Title; Five for six consecutive qualifications in 1998
to earn his NAHRA Master Title; APLA Grand Master Pointing
Lab Title; 2001 US Open Pheasant Champion; Numerous 1st and
2nd placements in state and local upland competitions; Excellent
producer with his numerous offspring, at a young age, qualifying
at AKC and NAHRA Master Hunting Tests, competing in Field
Trials and running APLA Pointing Lab events Several of his
offspring are expected to do well in the Show ring.
Raider is a relentless hunter that gives 100 percent
no matter what the hunting or training conditions are. He
is a superior water dog and is hunted extensively on geese
and ducks. Due to his intense desire and extreme perseverance,
frequently he has made over 200 yard retrieves, braking ice
and diving for ducks. He has also proven himself as a top
performer in the quest for upland game.
Although Raider’s formal training for the hunt test did not begin until he was
almost three, his unsurpassed training attitude, quick learning
skills and natural abilities, gave him quick notoriety within
one year. With all these great attributes, he is particularly
noted for passing on his exceptional traits to his puppies.
Any avid hunter would be proud to own such a dog with all
the qualities.Raiders hips are OFA good, elbows are normal, and eyes CERF certified.
A professional video (9 minutes in length), showing his intensity
in upland hunting and water work, is available for fifteen
U.S. dollars and can be requested via mail from Matt and Karen
Cashman; 23995 Edenvale Trail, Elko, MN 55020. If you decide
to breed to Raider, the cost of the video will be refunded.
