 Rough has been a great addition to our stud dog program. He truly fits our commitment to our breeding philosophy; Breeding the best all-around hunting and family companion. He received his AKC Senior Title and his certified pointing lab title in 2006. Unfortunately, we new his breedings would be limited due to the fact he didn't carry the yellow gene. That was the reason we made the decision not to continuing with more advanced titles.
Rough has been extensively hunted in the Midwest for pheasants and ducks. He also spends more than two weeks every year hunting in Canada for geese and ducks. He is calm, quiet and steady in the blind but is always fired up to work. Rough is a house dog with an excellent on and off switch from the field to the house.
Rough's lineage is a great combination of outstanding proven producing lines that we have been using in our breeding program for generations. Rough is line bred on Raider's father "Risky". A more extensive write up is on the bottom of our Breeding Philosophy page about Risky and Raider. We know the kinds of dogs this line is producing. It has been a very strong proven producing line for our breeding program for the last twenty years. We were not surprised when we started to receive emails and calls from trainers and owners of Rough's offspring. They wanted to inform us on how happy they were with Rough's puppies. The professional trainers were very impressed, at such a young age, how quickly and easily his pups were going through their more advanced training programs. He is producing just the kind of dogs trainers want to work with, hunters want to hunt with and family's want to live with. That is the reason why Cashman Kennels will be keeping Rough's lineage in their breeding program for generations to come.
